Game Face explores not only what a female athlete looks like, but what makes her tick. We invite everyone to investigate what athletics means to them, to define the qualities of a female athlete, and to express their discoveries through words, pictures, and actions. The Game Face movement seeks to involve a broad range of people beginning at the community level. So far, Game Face includes the following elements, with more to follow:
• The Game Face patch issued by the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. Girls can earn their patch by participating in Game Face–related activities.
• An educational outreach program in colleges and high schools to promote a positive body image and to help students achieve a balance between elite achievement in sports and playing for the simple joy of participation.
